Designer, photographer, martial artist, bicyclist, and all-around student of life. My goal is to experience as much of what life has to offer as possible, whether it’s experimenting with new recipes, going on a dive with my husband, playing with new design techniques, or just going for a quick photo walk. For the day job, I am fortunate enough to be working for the wonderful non-profit organization for the performing arts, First Stage, where I work with an awesome group of people and I have continued to stretch my creative wings. I love taking on new challenges, because really, life is what you make of it, and I intend to make of it as much as possible!
More about my work at FIRST STAGE
Since July of 2011 I have been the Creative Services Manager, and general creative guru for the organization. While much of the work centers around print media, I continue to take opportunities to work with web and digital media, as well as photography and videography.
The work history
FREELANCER 2006–PRESENT Always looking for new and creative opportunities, as a freelance designer I not only continue to broaden my skills with everything from logos and illustrations, to websites and brochures, but also my client list with various agencies and start-ups including Keystone Click, Gravity Marketing, World Council of Credit Unions, and O2 Gearshop, along with community and campus organizations.
SHEPHERD EXPRESS NOV. 2009–JAN. 2011 While primary responsibilities were to the paper, I also worked on a variety of commercial projects through Express Creative, the in-house advertising and desig agency, which included website designs, book layout and cover design, brochures and more. With my interest and experience in photography, I also served as an in-house photographer.
BIZTIMES MEDIA FEB. 2009–NOV. 2009 In addition to creating ads for the print magazine, much of my work with BizTimes was designing online ads and graphics for the web including event registration sites and e-newsletters in collaboration with the events coordinator and marketing team.
2-STORY CREATIVE JAN. 2008–NOV. 2008 In-between working on stadium signage, custom t-shirt designs, game day tickets and programs for the Milwaukee Brewers, I also worked with a variety of clients on new logo designs and branding, creating marketing materials, as well as design for publication.
ORACULAR, INC. MAR. 2006–JAN. 2008 Being an IT company, I learned a great deal about website design, web usability, in addition to gaining an understanding of HTML. Pursuing Flash training here also allowed me to incorporate more animation and movement in my website designs. My first experience as an in-house photographer, I was able to refine my digital photography and photo-editing skills.
REEVE MEMORIAL UNION NOV. 2000–FEB. 2006 The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh student union’s marketing department functioned more like an in-house advertising and design agency for various campus entities, and as a Graphic Artist I was creating everything from weekly publications and print advertisements to t-shirts, CD packaging and other promotional giveaways, in addition to designing organization logos, branding styles and signage.
